Idle Guild Master: Pet Traits & Esoteric Eggs — What Players Say

Players on r/IdleGuildMaster describe what the Teacher trait does, which egg gives which first trait and where esoteric eggs drop, and they name different dungeons. This page puts their comments side by side, with dates and a link to each quoted comment, and keeps three eras apart. It is a sample of one community, not a verified guide.

I like these games and play them myself. Complete guides are hard to find online, so while playing I collect community experience from Reddit and put this site together—hoping it helps. Thank you.

Scope, eras & game versions

This page covers only what named players wrote about the Teacher trait, which egg gives which first trait and where esoteric eggs drop in Guild Master - Idle Dungeons (community name: Idle Guild Master). It uses a topic-selected re-collection of r/IdleGuildMaster (3908 threads: 3901 from r/IdleGuildMaster and 7 from r/incremental_games; 25233 comments), collected via the Arctic Shift archive on 2026-10-04; threads without the selection keywords may be missing. Every quote is matched against that collection by an automated test, line breaks included; author, date and score come from the collection. Nothing here was checked in the game. Trait, egg and dungeon names are the commenters’ own words.

The game changes, so every date carries an era:

  • Era A: up to 2025-05-15. The earliest dated items on this page are from 2024-10; numbers written then may have changed since.
  • Era B: 2025-05-16 to 2025-09-25.
  • Era C: from 2025-09-26. The collection holds no game version for era C comments, so a newer statement may describe a changed game.

Labels: Community Knowledge what a named player wrote. Non-English quotes are given in the original with a literal English translation labelled “(translation by MiniMeta, not verified by the author)”. Where the collection has few statements, this page writes “limited sample”.

Counts

Community Knowledge Script-computed mention counts over comments; a word is “mentioned” when it appears in a comment, including dismissive mentions. Scope: the 284 comments (in 210 threads, by 114 authors) that contain “teacher”, “esoteric” or “egg”. English forms only: Spanish or Chinese words are not counted.

Teacher: the numbers as written, and adds or multiplies

Four threads; comments dated 2024-10-30 to 2024-12-07. All five cells are era A. The three u/Key-Speed-2688 comments are by one author (lujv618 is his earlier doubt, lw80wdw his later statement). In the left column u/Alanta_Rian wrote 0.4% per level and u/Key-Speed-2688 wrote 20% at level 50; 50 times 0.4 is 20 (arithmetic by MiniMeta, not a claim by either author). Neither number was tested here

Is Teacher worth it, and for how long?

Eleven threads; comments dated 2024-10-26 to 2026-09-26. The columns sort the comments by what each says, not by correctness. Which egg gives which first trait?

Seven threads; comments dated 2024-10-27 to 2026-08-09. o5zt6a2 writes about wooden eggs in the sentence before the quote. The egg types named in the era C cells (wooden, esoteric, wild, reptile) get the same first-trait names as in the era A cells, except that o5zt6a2 writes “healing” where u/Alanta_Rian writes “Healer”; the era A lists come from two items by u/Alanta_Rian. m1dxx7h (2024-12-10) is a reply to lpxz9hl, u/Alanta_Rian’s comment about the drops of an egg that hatches into a Floating Eye; it does not name the egg type. The era C quotes of osobkg7 and o5anl7i state the pairs without a hedge, while p1kowjn and p73e11q (Spanish, below) write “por lo general” and “normalmente” (generally, normally) (limited sample)

Where do esoteric eggs drop?

Eleven threads; comments dated 2024-10-02 to 2026-09-01. The quoted comments name different places; none of them gives a drop rate as a number. u/Randonaut3 has three cells: p1kowjn twice (it names D5 first, then D3 and D7 in a second sentence) and p73e11q. n07rknq answers a question about eggs and calls them “ghost eggs”, not esoteric eggs. n07wthd is the answer to n07uxt5 (a question about D7, itself a reply to n07rknq) and does not name esoteric eggs. The post 1gobbcv is u/Alanta_Rian’s pet guide; oov7uk7 is a reply to the post of the thread “My first esoteric egg”, which also holds ootq2ai.   • Era C carries no game version; if the game changed after 2025-09-25, some newer statements may no longer apply.
  • Apart from the two single statements above (olfzpm5 and nt15pae), the quoted comments describe egg drops only in words such as “rare” and “low drop rates”; this page does not claim to list every rate in the collection.
